Good morning! It’s hard to believe we’re starting the last week of the summer. We had a fun weekend! Friday night we had Rockstar where, as usual, the girls were so brave and talented and silly. It’s so heartwarming to watch them perform fearlessly in front of the whole Camp! Saturday was the cookout on the hill for the Tapaderos, Bridlewise, Cedar Choppers, Robinettes and Riflettes (Deb Horseback, Campcraft, Archery and Riflery clubs). While the Deb clubs enjoyed steak, texas toast, and baked potatoes cooked over the fire, the Sub Debs and Junior Debs had GOLD RUSH. Think a camp-wide Easter egg hunt but with gold instead of eggs. Add in a few bandits trying to steal the gold and you’ve got one of our favorite evening activities! Yesterday was the Horse Show, which you can watch on YouTube if you want. Check your email for the link! The riding department and all the campers put on a great show, even if a couple of horses were a little cranky about working on Sunday. Yesterday after rest period, we had the Waterfront Cup championship. Each country fought hard, but Madagascar came out as the winner, dedicating their win to their friends on team Djibouti. Scotland won the Spirit award for their great attitudes and support of all the other teams. It’s hard to explain, even through photos, how much fun the campers had participating in these games! Of course we would have rather been swimming, but the Waterfront staff and counselors showed the campers how to make lemonade out of lemons. Today the girls are in their activities and working to pass last minute ranks and targets, soaking up the time with their horses, practicing for canoe races, and making the most of their time!
