Happy Wednesday from the Creek! Sorry for the late post today. We’ve had a great few days! On Monday during rest period, we had our first little storm of the term. It only rained for a few minutes but there were a few pretty loud claps of thunder. After rest period, the girls got to come to Canteen and then take it back to their cabins. We checked on everybody. There were some nerves here and there, but overall everyone was fine. It helps to be with your cabinmates and it REALLY helps that our counselors are especially wonderful this term! Monday evening was supposed to be Big/Little Sister Rally, but since the field was wet, we went to our backup plan, which was Dutch Auction. This is a reverse scavenger hunt where each cabin brings a bag of things and hopes that what they brought is on the list. Then last night we did Big/Little Sister Rally where all the new campers spent time with their tribe big sisters and played games on the Flagpole Field. The campers who were new last year also got big sisters this year. Everyone had a great time! Today we announced Honor Cabins for the first week of the term. Cabins 6, 1, 9, 9B, and 10 won and will get ice cream with all the toppings! The competition is fierce on the Deb side!
We continue to feel immense gratitude for the fact that these second termers get to be here. Thank you for trusting us with your campers, especially this summer. It’s a responsibility and an honor we do not take lightly!
